Guide for Burying Polyethylene Tanks
.
HANDLING
To handle the large tanks textile slings are needed wich for safety reasons, should have carying capacity of more than 4500 kg.
WARNING!
Balancing the load: in the figure is an example of handling a tank of 20,000 liters
or tanks up to 20,000 liters, which is manufactured with weights below 900 kg and lengths of less than 6 feet, the machine can be equipped with forklift trucks or other lifting system, provided that they can fix the sling that will wrap around the artifact. In this case the tank can also be loaded from the side. For higher volume of tanks, you must use a suitable lifting mechanism to weight and size of the tans , for loading the discharge (for a 50,000 liters, for example requires a means of lifting capacity of 5000 kg ). In the latter case, the truck must be loaded from above. During loading and transport you must take care not to hit the tank with sharp or blunt instruments. Although extremely resistant to shocks, by force of its own inertia may result in injury not visible to the naked eye. Also during transport is essential to anchor the sling manufactured with canvas straps.

INSTRUCTION FOR THE BURYED

roper installation is critical to the success of burying. In any case, you need the assistance of a qualified engineer to advise the most appropriate choices in relation to soil characteristics, please follow all the phases of the operation and release specific written report on the run. This document should be stored together with the traceability code to the tank
The warranty realased by Numak is no more valid without those documents. While processing the Excavation consider that in addition to the size of the tank must be calculated in addition on each side, a distance of 30 cm beyond the overall dimensions, as shown in Figure 1. The bottom of the excavation will allow perfect drainage to avoid stagnation which causes the accumulation of water .Per the excavation observe the following rules of thumb: a. for non-bearing land(loose soil) consider that the angle of the excavation can not be greater than 45 degrees. B land of medium hardness does not exceed 60 deg.C. for excavations , in rocks it can be up to 80 degrees, as shown in the figur. On the top of the tank, around the excavation you must leave a free zone of about 60 cm. wide, to avoid landslide and to allow movement of workers during the trenching. fig 1 Rappresentation of the excavation degree with of the different soil types
GENERAL INFORMATION
The tank should never be placed in landslide soils, clay soils, slopes, locations of downspouts acquepiovane subject to, and so on. In such situations you must use a qualified technician who knows the morphological and hydrogeological features of the installation area and to identify appropriate action to intraprendere.La interment area will be pedestrian and vehicular or truck can be made only with the realization struttureidonee of which should be calculated from a technical fiducia. In not, however, the excavation can be carried out on land subject to landslides, and wetlands that do not allow drainage profondo.Quando was in the presence of a shallow aquifer and can expect its rise, it is necessary to achieve unidoneo drainage of the excavation to prevent the hydraulic thrust on the tank can get to cause damage by crushing. A possibile solution is shown in Figure 3, which represents the realization of a system of water collection by a well didrenaggio. The water collected will be disposed of through a sewage pump capable of draining the bottom of the well.
PROCEDURES FOR UNDERGROUND
1Excavate the hole with the dimensions suggested in the figure Creating a bed of 15-20 cm of not recycled sand i, having inside at least one drainage pipe.
2Carefully level out the built base, carefully make sure to eliminate any rough edges. Make sure that the rest area will not yield under the weight of the tank when full.
3Make sure the integrity of the tank, move it empty, using the Structural lifting lugs, if any, or using a sling to pass into the grooves of the tank.
4Level out perfectly the tank as well as its possible extension shaft. Make all the hydraulic connections with the rest of the system and check for leaks before continuing with the basement.
5
Fill the tank about half full with water, and fill the empty space between the tank and the wall of the trench with sand, up to the water level, with layers of 20-30 cm at a time, taking care to make them well compacted, with the help of wood or other suitable means. Avoid running down the sand in large quantities, because this could create accumulations wich can lead to deform the tank and could generate gaps in other areas. Is essential to try to shrink the most of every single layer that is added
6Keep digging the basement in successive layers, try to keep the same level of t the water in the tank to ensure complete coverage.
7We recommend to fill the top of the hole, until the beginning of the extension, if any, with not recycled sand , completing the last phase of trenching with topsoil, taking care not to exceed a maximum depth of burying of 30cm, as shown in Figure.
8Leave the underground storage tank full of water for a day or two to allow a better adjustment. Before use, especially in the presence of hydraulic pumps, make sure it has a proper vent system capable of creating vacuum which will bringing air constantly during the emptying phase of the tank .Please Note: The tank must be used only for burying. The use above ground and is not allowed and howeverit will invalidate the warranty of the product. In a regular use situation the tank must be filled no more than his mouth, avoiding fill up any extension (the dome).
9As explained in previous paragraphs those are guidelines for burying a single tank. For more tanks (in series or in parallel) carry out excavations at least three feet away and separated from each other, otherwise it is suggested to provide a bearing wall of at least 20 cm
